Doctors Without Borders’ Containers for Change Program
During my Baden Powell Rover Scout Award, I decided to make my workplace (Embassy Cellars Toowong, formerly Spiros Paddington) more sustainable, as well as set up a ten cent containers bin outside the Brisbane Tramway Museum, that the general public could utilise. So far, the program has generated $885.10 for Doctors Without Borders and kept 8851 containers from littering our local environment or ending up in landfill. Giving Blood
I gave blood twice during my senior schooling years, but never really gave it much thought. In late 2020, the Red Cross were in desperate need of donors, so I decided it was time to break my seven years drought and donate blood again. In the three years since, I’ve racked up 10 donations and didn’t cry once. It’s an easy way to give back, as all it requires is your time, and a bit of planning around proper hydration.
